June 31, Sindhupalchowk. A wife has died after being beaten by her husband in Pipaldanda, Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality-6, Sindhupalchowk. Police have identified the deceased as local Mina Rana. Her husband Min Bahadur Bhandari is absconding after the incident.

According to locals, Min Bahadur brought Mina, who had gone to her parents' house, home from her in-laws' house in Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality-7, Pauwa on Tuesday. Locals say that both of them often consume alcohol and drank alcohol together on Tuesday evening.

According to ward member Ravi Khatri, Min Bahadur punched her in the head after a minor argument over alcohol. Based on initial investigations, it is believed that Mina died due to the same injury.

Locals found Mina dead at her home on Wednesday morning. Although the deceased had injuries and bruises on her head and knees, there were no signs of any sharp weapons being used at the scene, locals said.
