31 Asad, Dolpa. The construction process of 13 concrete bridges has begun on the Jajarkot-Dolpa road section under the Bheri Corridor. The Bheri Corridor Project Office has invited bids for the construction of the bridges on Wednesday.

According to project chief Naresh Prasad Keshari, contracts have been called for the Khahare River in Jajarkot, Chisapani, Ghattekhola, Rijigad River, Usum River and Manaka River in Rukum West under the Jajarkot-Dolpa road section.
 

Karabgad River, Chugad River, Galligad River, Rupgad River, Khar River in Dolpa, and the Bheri River in Tripurakot.

Similarly, a contract has been invited for the construction of a concrete bridge on the Thulibheri River near the powerhouse of the Jairigad Hydropower Project along the Dunai-Kaike road section in Dolpa.

Chief Keshari said that the construction process was moved forward after the Ministry of Finance ensured resources for the construction of bridges over the rivers and streams on the road section a few months ago. According to him, construction work will now begin gradually at all the places where bridges are yet to be built.

Although Dolpa was connected to the national road network in 2075 BS, the Bheri Corridor has not yet been fully operational due to the lack of a bridge. Although the construction of the road track from Jajarkot to Dunai, the district headquarters of Dolpa, has been completed, the lack of necessary bridges has led to traffic disruption during the rainy season, and the locals have been suffering.

Similarly, the construction of the Dho, Tinje and Marim roads from Dunai to Upper Dolpa under the corridor is still incomplete. The construction of the Lasikap-Sisaul road has also been affected due to the delay of construction contractors in the Dunai-Lasipak section.
